    About Ahuriri

    Ahuriri is a charming waterfront village in Napier's vibrant entertainment quarter. A short 5 minute drive from the Napier CBD and 10 minutes from the airport. The area is steeped in history, being one of the earliest settled areas of Napier.

    Today, Ahuriri offers everything from a swimming beach and an extensive seaside boardwalk to many waterfront cafes and bars, art galleries and boutique stores.

    Church Road is excited to be hosting some of Hawkes Bay's finest acoustic acts this summer. Relax in our park-like grounds, enjoy a glass of Church Road wine and one of our delicious platters or cheeseboards, while you're entertained by our local talent.
    Vagabond Jacks Food Truck will be joining us with his healthy, tasty treats from around the globe. Our restaurant will also be operating a full a la carte menu should you wish to dine indoors before heading out to enjoy the entertainment and Hawke's Bay sunshine. Church Road wine and a selection of beverages will be available for purchase. Complimentary water will also be available.

    Tremains Art Deco Festival 2018

    If you have never been to the Tremains Art Deco Festival before there are a few things you need to know - the first thing being you are about to enter a world of unique and incredible experiences. There is so much to do and see: whether dancing at a concert, admiring the vintage cars, watching the vintage aircraft displays, or just taking in the fashion. No matter where you go or what you do, the atmosphere is electric! As you walk down the street you will be greeted by strangers, complimented on your attire, and made to feel welcome. There is simply nothing else like it!

    The Piano: The Ballet

    25 years ago, cinema goers around the world were captivated by an extraordinary tale of desire, violence and hope. The story of Ada McGrath and her daughter Flora, husband Alastair and lover Baines unfolded against the wild grandeur and desolation of Aotearoa, as Jane Campion's award-winning film took audiences on a visceral journey into New Zealand's imagined past, as it had never been portrayed before.

    Michael Jackson History Show

    A musical tribute and live concert experience that journeys through Michael Jackson's vast and incredible catalogue of work including his beginnings as a member of the Jackson 5, his groundbreaking theatrics in the 80s and his evolution onward into the 21st century.
    This show features all of MJ's greatest hits performed live by multi-talented impersonator Dantanio. Come and celebrate the life and talent of the King of Pop with this casino-class production that features a live international band, fully choreographed dancers, authentic costumes and brilliant effects.

    Horse of the Year 2018

    The Annual Horse of The Year Show is New Zealand's Premier Equestrian Competition, featuring a range of horse and rider combinations from multiple disciplines. With over 1800 riders and 2500 horses competing for lucrative titles and prize money the show is a feature on most equestrian calendars.

    The 2018 event is already shaping up to be one of the strongest shows yet, with a number of elite riders indicating their presence at hoy. Olympian and previous event title winner Clarke Johnstone Is once again looking forward to the show and its atmosphere, which he felt helped enormously in his preparation for the 2016 Olympics At Rio.

    John Butler Trio & Special Guests

    Revered for their brilliant live performances and superb musicianship, the John Butler Trio are one of the most successful Australian bands of the current era and are returning to New Zealand for a one-off show at the stunning Church Road Winery in the Hawkes Bay for Good Friday 2018.
    Shaping the way independent music is released and received in Australia they have graced the stage of just about every major festival on the global circuit. Their captivating and dynamic live performances continue to see them grow in stature and popularity by doing what they do best, touring their socks off!

    The Big Easy 2018

    The Big Easy on the Hawke's Bay Trails is the ultimate antidote to all those serious lycra laden cycling events held across the country. The Big Easy ride is a gentle ride and we encourage you to take all day and enjoy the many tasty Hawke's Bay distractions along the way.

    Easter Saturday 31st March: The Big Easy 
    Saturday 31st March will see us riding out from Black Barn Vineyards in Havelock North, heading out on River Road to hit the Hawke's Bay Trails.

    After enjoying 42km of tasty stops, you will aim to finish at Church Road Winery for the finale party and concert which starts at 2pm (but if you take longer that's ok, it means you are enjoying all the distractions along the way!). Stay tuned for the concert will be BIG. 


    It is a wonderful setting for relaxing or socialising. It's also the perfect playground for active people, with regular fishing, sailing and diving trips all setting out from Ahuriri. The newly improved Rotary walkway stretches from Bay View right down to Clive - a fantastic bike trip, run or walk.
